IP Protection Class Definition
The IP protection rating defines the level of protection of a product's enclosure against the intrusion of solid foreign objects into the product (including tools, fingers, or dust, etc.) and against the ingress of water into the product (by means of condensation, rinsing, immersion, etc.).
The two digits after IP, indicates the protection level of the equipment shell for solid foreign matter and water intrusion; the first digit indicates the dustproof level, the second digit indicates the waterproof level; the larger the number, the higher the protection level.
For example, IP67, 6 is a dustproof rating and 7 is a waterproof rating.

Waterproof grade commonly used reference standards: IEC60529, GB4208, GB/T10485-2007, DIN40050-9, ISO20653, ISO16750.
IPX1
Method name: Vertical drip test
Test equipment: Drip test device;
Placement of specimen: Place the specimen on the rotating sample stage at 1r/min according to the normal working position of the specimen, and the distance from the top of the sample to the drip port is not more than 200mm.
Test conditions: Drip volume is 10.5mm/min; test duration: 10min.
IPX2
Method name: 15° inclined drip test
Test equipment: Drip test device;
Specimen placement: make one face of the specimen at an angle of 15° to the plumb line, and the distance from the top of the sample to the drip port is not more than 200mm. after each test, change the other face for a total of four times.
Test conditions: the drip volume is 30.5mm/min; test duration: 4×2.5min, total 10min.

Method name: Drenching test
a. Pendulum type shower test
Test equipment: Pendulum-type drenching and splashing test device;
Specimen placement: choose the appropriate radius of the pendulum tube, so that the height of the sample stage is in the pendulum tube diameter position, the sample is placed on the sample stage, so that the distance from the top of the sample to the sample spout is not more than 200mm, and the sample stage does not rotate;
Test conditions: The water flow rate is calculated according to the number of water spray holes of the pendulum pipe, and each hole is 0.07 L/min. When drenching, the water from the water spray holes in the 60° arc section on each side of the center point of the pendulum pipe is sprayed to the sample. The sample was placed in the center of the semicircle of the pendulum. The pendulum swung 60° along each side of the vertical line, totaling 120°. Each swing (2 x 120°) lasts about 4 s. The sample is placed in the center of a semicircle.
Test pressure: 400kPa; Test time: 10min continuous drenching.
b. Sprinkler-type drenching test
Test equipment: Hand-held drenching and splashing test device;
Specimen Placement: Make the parallel distance from the top of the test to the water jet of the hand-held nozzle between 300mm and 500mm;
Test conditions: the test should be installed with a balancing weight of the baffle, water flow rate of 10L/min;
Test time: calculated according to the surface area of the shell of the sample under test, 1min per square meter (excluding the installation area), at least 5min.

Method name: Splash test
a. Pendulum splash test
Test equipment and specimen placement: choose the appropriate radius of the pendulum tube, so that the height of the sample table in the pendulum tube diameter position, the specimen will be placed on the sample table, so that the distance from the top to the sample spout is not more than 200mm, the sample table does not rotate;
Test conditions: water flow rate calculated according to the number of water spray holes of the pendulum tube, each hole is 0.07L/min; water spray area for the pendulum tube midpoint on both sides of the 90 ° arc section of the water spray holes in the water spray to the sample. The test sample was placed in the center of the pendulum semicircle. The pendulum swung 180° along each side of the vertical line, totaling about 360°. Each swing (2 x 360°) took about 12 s. The sample was placed in the center of the pendulum.
Test time: continuous drenching for 10min.
b. Nozzle-type splash test
Test equipment: Hand-held drenching and splashing test device;
Specimen Placement: The baffle plate on the equipment mounted with the balancing weight should be removed so that the parallel distance from the top of the test to the water spray opening of the hand-held nozzle is between 300mm and 500mm.
Test conditions: the test should be installed with a balancing weight of the baffle, water flow rate of 10L/min.
Test time: that is, according to the surface area of the shell of the sample under test, each square meter is 1min (excluding the installation area) at least 5min.

Test name: Pressurized pendulum rain test
Test equipment: Pendulum type rain test;
Specimen placement: choose the appropriate radius of the pendulum tube, so that the height of the sample stage is in the pendulum tube diameter position, the sample is placed on the sample stage, so that the distance from the top of the sample to the sample spout is not more than 200mm, and the sample stage does not rotate.
Test conditions: water flow rate calculated according to the number of holes in the pendulum, each hole for 0.6 ± 0.5 L / min. water spray area for the pendulum mid-point on both sides of the 90 ° arc section of the water spray holes in the water spray to the sample. The sample was placed in the center of the pendulum semicircle. The pendulum swung 180° along each side of the vertical line, totaling about 360°. Each swing (2 x 360°) took about 12 s. The sample was placed in the center of the pendulum.

Method name: Strong water spray test
Test equipment: The inner diameter of the nozzle's spout is 12.5mm;
Test conditions: the distance between the test sample and the water jet is 2.5-3m, water flow rate is 100L/min (6000L/h).
Test time: calculated according to the surface area of the shell of the sample under test, 1min per square meter (excluding the installation area) at least 3min. D=6.3mm, waterproof protection level 5 and 6K; D=12.5mm, waterproof protection level 6.

Method name: Short-time immersion test
Test equipment: immersion tank;
Test conditions: the dimensions should be such that when the specimen is put into the immersion tank, the distance from the bottom of the sample to the water surface is at least 1 m. The distance from the top of the specimen to the water surface is at least 0.15 m. Test time: 30 min.

Method name: Continuous Diving Test
Test equipment test conditions and test time: to be agreed by the supply and demand (buyer and seller) parties, and the degree of severity should be higher than IPX7.

Method name: High-pressure injection test
Test equipment: The inner diameter of the nozzle's spout is 12.5mm;
Test conditions: water spray angle: 0 °, 30 °, 60 °, 90 ° (4 positions); the number of water spray holes: 4; sample table speed: 5 ± 1r.p.m; distance of 100-150mm, each position for 30 seconds; flow rate of 14-16 L/min, water spray pressure of 8,000-10,000kPa, the water temperature requirements of 80 ± 5 ℃.
Test time: 30 seconds per position x 4 for a total of 120 seconds.
