Miconex made its debut in Shanghai Exhibition Center in April 1983, which caused a sensation in the domestic exhibition industry because it started in the early stage of "reform and opening up". At that time, there were more than 400 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions, with an exhibition area of only 17,000 square meters, 80% for international exhibitors, including 6 foreign pavilions, more than 2,000 foreign exhibitors, more than 300 representatives of the academic conference, including nearly 200 representatives from foreign countries, and more than 300 items of technical exchanges. The "Multinational Instrumentation Exhibition" became the first non-"China Council for the Promotion of International Trade" (CCPIT) sponsored "alternative" exhibition (specially approved by the State Council). Since then, the gate of China's conference and exhibition industry has been opened in the sound of the horn of "reform and opening up". Various "heroes" (exhibition organizers) followed suit, and the policies of various places were gradually "loosened", ushering in the first wave of development of China's exhibition industry in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
